A state senator has filed legislation that would allow for the public retirement fund plan of an elected official to be raided in an effort to recoup any money that might be owed to another party as a result of any related felony conviction.

This legislator is making quite a name for himself speaking out on issues near and dear to the hearts of those who live on the Northshore. He proposed a unique change to the homestead exemption, spoke vehemently against a gasoline tax hike, urged St. Tammany residents to fight their assessments and took on cable companies over the limited airing of games of Louisiana’s pro sports teams. The entrepreneur started his own company, Slidell-based Wealth Management Group Inc., in 2002 and was elected in 2007.
