Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center

$211 million

Touted as the largest construction project in Lafayette history, Lourdes is building a new medical center and office building on Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Frem Boustany Boulevard. Phase I of construction on the 45-acre site is scheduled for completion in July 2011. The new hospital has the potential for 332 beds in eight stories.

Lafayette General Medical Center

$70 million

A renovation and expansion project for the current hospital will add 14,826 square feet and include all 10 floors. Plans call for a new inpatient rehab unit and a new pediatric emergency department as well as overall modernization of facilities, expected to be complete in the fall of 2011.

Main Street at River Ranch Annex

$13.9 million

Phase II of River Ranch’s Main Street residential and retail development will include 143 apartments and 11,200 square feet of retail space. Expanding on the original Main Street concept, which includes Fresh Market, Another Broken Egg Café, Paul Michael Co., The Wine Loft and Bonefish Grill, the new annex is expected to be complete in the spring, with apartments renting in March.

Acadiana Center for the Arts Theater

$11.6 million

The center’s new 300-seat world-class performing arts facility broke ground in March in downtown Lafayette. This long-awaited addition to the current arts center will be the permanent home to Louisiana Crossroads, Louisiana Folk Roots and Resident Theatre Co., as well as host youth groups, theater rehearsals, evening recitals, film screenings and pageants. The expansion also includes space for a coffee shop, a larger entrance and expanded public areas.

Martin & Castille Funeral Home

$2.7 million

Opened in December, the third location for Martin & Castille serves South Lafayette, Youngsville, Milton, Broussard and Maurice on Farrell Road. The facility includes a full-service chapel, spacious viewing rooms, a café with wireless Internet and children’s activity center in a blend of Louisiana styling with contemporary elements.

Halliburton Liner Hanger Facility

$2.6 million

This new facility located on Southpark Road gives Halliburton a Lafayette location to build, assemble, clean and dress liner hanger service tools for offshore use. This service was previously being done in New Iberia.
