manufacturing company recently won the National Black Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award. In June, he will be inducted into the Chase Business Hall of Fame, and also serves on the boards of GNO Inc., the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and others.

She owns the Brunner Gallery in Covington. She is vice-chairwoman of the Louisiana State Arts Council and recently was appointed to the Louisiana State Museum Board. Brunner also serves on the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce Board, Louisiana Partnership for the Arts Executive Committee and others.

She joined Entergy in 1999 as vice president of
investor relations and a year later was at the helm of two companies with more than 1 million customers. After hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Gov. Kathleen Blanco tapped her for the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation Board of Directors. She works with the Cultural Economy Foundation Board, the Council for a Better Louisiana and others.

The New Iberia native acquired the near-bankrupt Global Divers & Contractors Inc. and its three employees in 1973 and turned it into a global firm of more than 6,000 workers. Through his Horatio Alger Louisiana Scholarship Program, he awards 50 $10,000 scholarships annually and has contributed to facilities and academic programs at several universities and schools along the corridor. In 2000, he won the prestigious Horatio Alger Award.

The chair and CEO of C.H. Fenstermaker and Associates, Inc.—a surveying, mapping and engineering consulting firm in Lafayette-—is a strong advocate for making Louisiana the best place to do business. He is secretary of Blueprint Louisiana and chairman of the Governor’s I-49 South Task Force, and past chairman of the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry and the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association.
CINDY WALES

In 2007, she was the first woman ever elected to the Livingston Parish Council, and has been fighting to change its ways—particularly where road projects are concerned—ever since. She’s been with Capital One for 30 years, and serves on the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, the Livingston Economic Development Council and the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce.
